1 Timothy 3–4

Background:

God’s household continues to be Paul’s immediate concern knowing how turbulent the city of Ephesus was. He understood how important leadership was in the church to advance the Good News in the world and promote the will of God. In these chapters he gives Timothy standards for church leadership, warns of false doctrine, and instructs Timothy on how to be a good minister of Jesus Christ.

Memory Verse:

“Since everything God created is good, we should not reject any of it but receive it with thanks. For we know it is made acceptable by the Word of God and prayer.” (1 Timothy 4:4–5, NLT)

Reflection:

How did God steer you away from controversies, meaningless talk, and false doctrines this week?
