2 Thessalonians 2:13–3:18

Background:

Paul’s love for the Thessalonians is evident in both of his letters. He calls them his pride and joy and says they live in a way that pleases God. Oh, to have Christ say that about us! Do we strive to have the Word of the Lord ring out from us like it did from the Thessalonians? They remained strong in their faith, despite persecution. But even they needed guidance in areas of weakness. Paul ends his second letter to the Thessalonians with a warning to the idle and specific instructions on how to deal with these disobedient Christians.

Memory Verse:

“He called you to salvation when we told you the Good News; now you can share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (2 Thessalonians 2:14, NLT)

Reflection:

How are you guarding yourself against false teaching?
