Dear Father in Heaven:
Help us to fully absorb and understand the significance and truth of Jesus’ teaching. Show us how to apply it to our own lives and share it boldly with others. I pray that You would give us the discernment we need to determine what is truth and what is not. Please make the words of Scripture come alive for us in new ways as we study what we see as the familiar. May this life-changing story change our lives like never before.

Background
Jesus is in the last few days of His earthly life in this section of Scripture. His betrayal, arrest, and crucifixion are approaching, but He does not waver from His mission to speak God’s truth. He is the only sure foundation of faith, the Cornerstone, yet the religious leaders continue to plot His arrest. They refuse to acknowledge that the Messiah they have been waiting and preparing for is right in front of them. HE is the Stone that the builders rejected.
