Obadiah 1:1-21

Background:

The story of Israel and Edom originates in Genesis and will culminate in Revelation. The story of Esau and Jacob exists to portray not only a dysfunctional family, but also how a family and its ties can have eternal consequences. This week we will examine the ties and feuds between the two nations. We will examine how God regards Esau/Edom, His judgment, and His final plans for Edom and Israel. The story is not over for the descendants of these two brothers.

Memory Verse:

“The pride of your heart has deceived you, you who live in the clefts of the rocks and make your home on the heights, you who say to yourself, ‘Who can bring me down to the ground?” (Obadiah 3, NIV)

Reflection:

How do you practice solitude with our Lord?
