Background:

Throughout the Bible, the Lord reveals Himself to be a God who comes down and gets in the dirt with His people. In Genesis 2, we see, “The Lord God formed the man of dust from the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life.” Then, in Genesis 15, we see the Lord Himself passing, alone, through the pieces of the cut-covenant with Abram. All along, God reveals Himself to be the One who personally works for the good of His people, even in judgment. As the classic marriage vows go, His faithfulness is true to His people “for better or worse.”

Memory Verse:

“Man is humbled, and each one is brought low, and the eyes of the haughty are brought low. But the Lord of hosts is exalted in justice, and the Holy God shows Himself holy in righteousness.” (Isaiah 5:15–16, ESV)

Reflection:

How are you allowing God to prepare you for His future reign?
