Background
Chapter 1 sets the stage for the book of Daniel as we see Daniel’s strength and character emerging in this first chapter. As captives, Daniel and his companions will face many obstacles. This book is a textbook on how to live as faithful Christians in a culture that doesn’t know God. As we study Daniel, we too can gain wisdom that will help us to navigate in our world.
