Long, long ago in eternity past,
The dance of the Triune existed in the vast.
And the physical image of our mighty Father
Took charge to create earth and his people-one to another.
He brought into being the birds, all creatures, the sky, and the sea.
It’s to him, someday, we would all bow the knee.
He is the Radiance of God’s Glory.
He is the Center of the most powerful story.
He is the image of our invisible God.
He is the ‘One and Only’ that we should all laud.
His Name is Jesus!
Right from the start, he was Lord of all.
Whether Creator or Sustainer, he answered God’s call
To dwell in His fullness as Head of the Church
And reconcile believers to God in their Deity search.
For Him, all life in the universe has been held together,
Which means this supreme King may be trusted in full measure.
More profoundly he saved us by his death on a cross.
His ultimate sacrifice meant eternal life was not lost.
From beginning to end, he is Ruler of the world,
Especially made known when his blood was unfurled.
God said ‘no’ when he asked Him to pass the cup,
But through the ultimate sacrifice, His Name is now lifted up.
