Heavenly Father:
Thank You for my salvation. Thank You for sending Jesus Your Son, fully divine, fully man. Mold me and shape me to be more like Him. Use Your Word this week to instruct and guide me. Disciple and correct me as Jesus did for those who followed Him while He was on earth.
In Jesus’ matchless name we pray, Amen
Memory Verse
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing!”
Luke 13:34, ESV
Background
Throughout His ministry, Jesus had a diverse crowd around Him. His disciples were fully committed but often not quite understanding everything He told them. More casual followers had various reasons for being in the crowd. He also had His detractors—religious leaders and those in the government who feared Him. As you study this week, identify who He directed His teaching to, and think about what He wanted them to hear and learn. It often applies to us as well!
