Background:

After the millennial reign of Christ on earth and the great white throne judgment, Christ will recreate a new heaven and earth for His redeemed. John is given a sneak peak into this new creation. There are numerous parallels in God’s original creation in Genesis 1 and 2 and His re-creation in the last two chapters of Revelation. Revelation 21 and 22 speak of Christ’s work in as a total re-creation, not just a renovation, of heaven and earth. John is not given a lot of detail about the physical characteristics of this new creation, but one startling detail disclosed is that there will be no sea.

Memory Verse:

“He said to me: ‘It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life.’” (Revelation 21:6, NIV)
