Background:

There is a spiritual battle raging all around us as Satan works to destroy the God-given institutions of marriage and family. We see it played out in the physical world, but we must not forget that it is spiritual. The apostle Paul says in Ephesians 6:12, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” (esv) Satan wants to destroy the image of God, so he comes after the image-bearers through abortion, divorce, dissatisfaction regarding male and female roles, confused gender identity, and abuse. Our God-given, image bearing role as women is under attack, so there has never been a better time to study biblical womanhood and reclaim the confidence and satisfaction in living lives honoring to God as women.

Memory Verse:

“Then the LORD God said, ‘it is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper fit [ezer kenegdo] for him.’” (Genesis 2:18, ESV)

Reflection:

How does the biblical view of women differ from the world’s view of women?
