Father:
As we study the warnings to the church in Galatia concerning those who purposely dilute or distort the Gospel, give us discernment and wisdom TODAY to apply our knowledge of the truth, keeping us alert and mindful that there are those whose aim is to cause us to stumble into confusion. Holy Spirit, guard our hearts and minds against the powers of darkness that work tirelessly to deceive us and destroy the joy we are to have from living in the Spirit.
In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen
Memory Verse
“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.”
Galatians 6:7, NASB
Background
Contrary to the way the unbelieving world practices self-determination, self-fulfillment, and self-satisfaction, the followers of Jesus Christ strive to surrender the control of their lives to the Holy Spirit. However, the process of our sanctification does not preclude temptations, occasional wandering, disobedience, and waywardness. In light of this reality, Paul addresses our responsibility toward each other when we stumble and need help and restoration.
