Father:
Help me to strive for purity in every way in my life. I desire to reflect You and Your standard. Let my words, thoughts, and actions bring only honor to Your name.
I pray this because of Christ, Amen.
Memory Verse
“In all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds, with purity in doctrine, dignified, sound in speech which is beyond reproach, so that the opponent will be put to shame, having nothing bad to say about us.” Titus 2:7-8, NASB
Background
There are many ways in which God’s Word tells us to be pure. Although we might initially think of purity in a sexual context, God desires that even our speech be pure in nature. This week we will be challenged to look at many facets of purity while studying what God’s standard is for each area examined.
Personal Response to God
In addition to this week’s memory verse, challenge yourself to memorize Psalm 139:23–24, ESV:
“Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts!
And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!”
Recite these verses in your prayers this week as you humble yourself before the Lord. Strive to be pure in every area of your life.
