Lord:

As I begin this study, make me teachable. Prepare my heart to learn more about You and Your Word this semester, and show me where I have held wrong beliefs. Help me to see the world through the truth of Your Word, and let my biblical worldview be unwavering and honoring to You.

In the name of Christ I pray, Amen.

Memory Verse

“By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God’s command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.” Hebrews 11:3, NLT

Background

Disbelief in God can be traced to the very beginning of time. Many of the arguments against Christianity stem from incorrect beliefs about creation and sin, both of which we will cover in this lesson. Having a clear understanding of these two subjects is foundational to cultivating a biblical worldview.

Personal Response to God

It can be easy to overlook the importance of believing in the events of Genesis just as they are written in Scripture. You cannot believe in the complete authority and sovereignty of God without wholeheartedly believing in a literal six-day creation and the other events detailed in Genesis. It is because the Lord is the Creator of all things that He has the right to establish the standards by which we are to live.

Take some time in prayer to ask God to show you if there have been ways you have doubted Him or overlooked foundational truths in Scripture. Once you begin to believe every word of Scripture, your biblical worldview will be rooted firmly in Him and His Word.
