Heavenly Father:

As we conclude this study, I pray that You help all that I have learned to be rooted deeply into my mind and heart. I long to be more discerning and loving and to always walk in Your truth. Remind me of what I have learned in moments when I need to act as You have instructed. Thank You for the truth of Your Word.

In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

Memory Verse

Dear friend, don’t let this bad example influence you. Follow only what is good. Remember that those who do good prove that they are God’s children, and those who do evil prove that they do not know God.
3 John 11, NLT

Background

John’s third letter is brief, yet significant. He reminds his readers of the importance of remaining faithful to the truth found only in God’s Word. We are to be loving, hospitable, and always living in a way that demonstrates our belief in Christ. Often, as we will see in this letter, that can mean anonymously working for Christ behind the scenes, expecting no praise or recognition from others. God sees our hearts, actions, and intentions, and we should strive to glorify Him even if nobody but Him is watching us.
