Background:

While still a prisoner, Paul wrote this letter to his friend Philemon. Philemon was a church leader in Colossae, and his slave Onesimus had run away and was now in the same prison as Paul. Paul had the joy of leading Onesimus to Christ, and now writes to his friend Philemon with a plea to not only forgive his slave, but to welcome him back as a fellow brother in Christ.

Memory Verse:

“The things you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” (2 Timothy 2:2, NASB)
