Background:

Isaiah 50:1–52:12 presents God’s challenge to His people to prove their claim that they’ve been forsaken. He declares the reason for their separation was their sin. However, He doesn’t leave them there! Neither does He leave us in our sin with neither restoration nor comfort. There is a Redeemer: His name is Jesus, our Suffering Servant. The message of comfort is this: Jesus is able to save all who trust on His name. God will return for His people. Jesus is our deliverer today and for all eternity.

Memory Verse:

“The Sovereign LORD has given me a well-instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed.” (Isaiah 50:4, NIV)

Reflection:

How have you felt God’s tender care this week?
