Dear Heavenly Father:

Thank You that I have been redeemed and forgiven and that I am Your child through the abundant grace of Christ. Thank You that my salvation is not based on what I do or don’t do, but on what Jesus did for me. Father, I can do nothing without You, but everything through You. Please help me on my way of faith, and may I always live my life to the praise of Your glory.

In Your precious Son Jesus’ name I pray, Amen

Memory Verse

“Let me put it another way. The law was our guardian until Christ came; it protected us until we could be made right with God through faith.”
Galatians 3:24, NLT

Background

Oh, foolish Galatians! Paul begins chapter 3 with some harsh words. We are alerted right away to his frustration with the people of Galatia. The whole focus of Paul’s letter is salvation through Christ alone, but the Galatians were regressing into legalism by turning back to the Old Testament law instead of relying on the freedom that comes from Christ’s complete work on the cross. They were being deceived into believing that they still needed the law to make them right with God. In this chapter Paul focuses on the question, Why live under the curse of the law when we have been rescued by Christ?
